Sustainability Management
CUC Group’s Sustainability Management
At CUC Group, our mission is to “Create Hope Through Healthcare.”
We strive to eliminate the burdens and inefficiencies faced by patients, healthcare professionals, and society, aiming to build a business that generates hope.
Our commitment lies in pursuing patient-centered healthcare, creating a society where as many people as possible can live with true peace of mind, and ensuring that this society is passed on sustainably to future generations.
Sustainability Promotion Framework
CUC Group has established a cross-functional project team, with representatives from each business division and group company actively participating. The team, led by the Executive Officer in charge of sustainability and the CFO, sets goals, develops execution plans, and drives initiatives while incorporating stakeholder perspectives.
Progress is reported to the Board of Directors twice a year, ensuring oversight through discussions involving all directors. This process reinforces our management’s commitment to sustainability.
A unique aspect of CUC’s framework is that all full-time directors and executive officers are assigned specific materiality themes. They take responsibility for shaping the ideal vision and leading concrete actions, leveraging their individual strengths. During board meetings, each officer also provides updates on their respective initiatives.
In the healthcare sector, sustainability requires continuous awareness, discovery, and problem-solving. Employee participation is a key pillar of our approach. In 2023, we launched a Sustainability Contest for all employees at CUC Partners, gathering environmental proposals from both domestic and international teams. Three selected teams have moved into the implementation phase.
While strong leadership from management is crucial, we also believe that individual motivation, proactive proposals, and tangible actions are essential in driving sustainability forward.

Identifying Key Sustainability Issues
There are five important themes that we are committed to, in order to Create Hope Through Healthcare. We identify the materiality necessary to realize the management philosophy by comprehensively discussing what is important and the degree to which it is important for society, stakeholders and our company by reference to SASB(*1) and GRI(*2) and other standards. We strive to provide important environmental, social and governance information to society and stakeholders.
※1 SASB Standards: Standards for the standardization of non-financial information disclosure led by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) in 2018.
※2 GRI Standard: The international standard established by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). It is used to report the economic, environmental, and social impact of an organization to the public
